JOHN 14:1–6 A PLACE PREPARED FOR YOU

Year A, Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Jesus begins today with very gentle words: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.”

He knows how easily our hearts get troubled. We worry about family, health,

work, the future. Sometimes it feels like we are carrying too much, and we don’t

know what lies ahead.

Jesus does not take away every problem. But He gives something deeper —

assurance. “I am going to prepare a place for you.” In other words: your life has a

direction, a purpose, a home. You are not just moving from one struggle to

another.

Then Thomas asks the honest question we all carry: “How can we know the

way?” And Jesus answers simply: “I am the way.” Not a map, not a set of

instructions — but a person.

This means we don’t need to have everything figured out. We just need to stay

close to Him—one step at a time, in our daily life.

And that changes how we face our worries. We are not lost. We are on a path —

and He walks it with us.

Question to ponder today: In the middle of my worries, am I trying to find my

own way — or staying close to Jesus who is the way?
