MATTHEW 13:36-43 LET GOD PULL THE WEEDS
Year A, Tuesday of the 17th Week in Ordinary Time

In today's Gospel, Jesus explains the parable of the weeds among the wheat. He tells us that good seed and weeds grow together until the harvest. The message is clear: God is patient. He does not give up on us, even when there are weeds in our lives.

We all have areas where we struggle—bad habits, impatience, pride, resentment, or fears that seem to keep returning. We may become discouraged and wonder why we haven't changed more quickly. But Jesus reminds us that spiritual growth takes time. He continues to nourish the good within us while patiently inviting us to let go of what keeps us from becoming the person He created us to be.

Perhaps today's Gospel invites us to ask ourselves: What "weed" in my life is Jesus asking me to surrender to Him today? We do not become saints overnight. Day by day, if we allow Christ to work in our hearts, the weeds lose their power and the good seed bears abundant fruit. Trust His patience, cooperate with His grace, and let Him finish the work He has begun in you.
