JOHN 15:26—16:4a YOU WILL NOT FACE IT ALONE
Year A, Monday of the Sixth Week of Easter
Jesus prepares His disciples today for something difficult. He tells them that they will face rejection, misunderstanding, and hardship because they follow Him. But before they become afraid, He gives them a promise: “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, will be with you.”
That promise matters to us too. Because life can become heavy at times. We face pressures, disappointments, conflicts, and moments when doing the right thing is not easy. Sometimes we feel alone carrying responsibilities, worries, or even our faith.
Jesus never said the Christian life would be free from struggle. But He does say this: you will not face it alone.
The Holy Spirit is not just for extraordinary moments. The Spirit helps us in ordinary life—in patience when we are frustrated, in courage when we are afraid, in wisdom when we are confused, and in strength when we feel tired.
Many times we look for dramatic signs from God, while His Spirit is quietly sustaining us every single day.
And that changes how we face life. We may still struggle, but we do not struggle alone. God walks within us.
Question to ponder today: When life becomes difficult, do I remember to rely on the quiet strength of the Holy Spirit within me?
