Mark 6:53–56 HEALING IN HIS PRESENCE
Year A, Monday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time
In today’s Gospel, wherever Jesus goes—villages, towns, or countryside—the sick are brought to Him. People do not ask for great signs or long words; they simply hope to touch the tassel of His cloak. And all who touch Him are healed.
This scene reminds us that healing begins with faith and closeness to Jesus. The people recognize that being near Him is enough. His presence brings restoration, not only to the body, but to the whole person.
In our own lives, we may carry wounds, struggles, or fatigue that others cannot see. This Gospel invites us to bring everything to Jesus and to trust that even a simple, humble reaching out in prayer can open us to His healing grace.
When we remain close to Christ, His compassion continues to touch lives through us—offering hope, comfort, and renewal to those we encounter.
Question to Ponder: In what area of my life do I need to draw closer to Jesus and trust in His healing presence?
