MARK 3:20-21 MISUNDERSTOOD FOR LOVE

Year A, Saturday of the 2nd Week in Ordinary Time

In today’s brief but powerful Gospel, Jesus is so devoted to His mission that He barely has time to eat. When His relatives hear about this, they set out to take charge of Him, saying, “He is out of His mind.” Even those closest to Jesus struggle to understand what He is doing.

This moment reminds us that following God’s will does not always bring immediate approval or understanding. Jesus experiences misunderstanding, concern, and even rejection from those who love Him. Yet He remains faithful to His mission, trusting the Father completely.

This Gospel speaks gently to our own lives. There are times when choosing what is right, choosing love, or choosing faith may not be understood by others. When that happens, Jesus assures us that we are not alone. Faithfulness to God often requires quiet courage, perseverance, and trust, even when the path is unclear or difficult.

Question to Ponder: When my faith is misunderstood or challenged, do I remain faithful to God’s call with trust and patience?
