LUKE 1:57–66 PEACE IN THE MIDST OF WONDER
Year A, Tuesday of the 4th Week of Advent
In today’s Gospel, Elizabeth gives birth to John the Baptist, and the joy and amazement surrounding this child remind us that peace often comes through God’s faithful promises being fulfilled. The neighbors and relatives are amazed, yet the true source of wonder is God’s plan unfolding quietly and surely.
Peace, as shown here, is not always dramatic. It is the calm confidence that God is at work, even when things seem ordinary or delayed. Elizabeth and Zechariah’s trust in God’s promise allows them to experience joy and serenity in the midst of life’s surprises.
Advent invites us to slow down and notice these moments of God’s faithful presence in our own lives. True peace grows when we trust God’s timing and see His hand at work, even in small or unexpected ways.
Question to Ponder: How can I recognize God’s faithful presence in my life and allow it to bring me peace today?
